Sabbir Patel is responsible for the Emerging Markets function at ICMIF. He has over 20 years’ experience supporting mutual and cooperative insurers which are providing affordable insurance to low-income populations. Throughout his time at ICMIF Sabbir has worked closely with ICMIF member organizations by providing technical assistance, capital support, training and advocacy. In 2016, Sabbir was appointed CEO and Managing Director of the ICMIF Foundation.
Sabbir is qualified as a chartered certified account (FCCA) and holds a Master’s degree at the Institute of Development and Policy Management (IDPM), Manchester and a CII Diploma in Insurance.
Marine overlooks the implementation of the three stages of the 5-5-5 Strategy in each of the five countries and works closely with the executing partners to ensure timelines are met and quality deliverables produced in the first two stages of the 5-5-5 Strategy (the country diagnostic and country strategy). In the final stage of the project (the country intervention), Marine supervises the country project team to ensure that the project meets its objectives and targets. In 2016, Marine was appointed First Secretary of the ICMIF Foundation.
Marine is French and has a Master’s degree in International Business. She has worked at ICMIF for over five years in the Emerging Markets Department.
Tina is responsible for prospecting potential donors and cultivating relationships with potential and existing donors. This includes liaising with potential donors, reporting to donors and writing proposals for external funding opportunities. She is also responsible for coordinating the technical assistance for project partners.
Tina is from Manchester in the UK and has enjoyed the opportunity to work in a variety of countries such as Croatia, USA, Belgium, Italy and Germany in the past. She has worked for both public, private and civil society organizations and her skills include bid coordination, business support and stakeholder engagement.
Payal Agarwal became Country Programme Officer in May 2016 to work in close coordination with project partners in the five countries. She is based in India and is in charge of the project planning, monitoring and reporting.
Payal has more than 12 years’ experience in research, consulting and project management across financial inclusion, inclusive businesses and the promotion of livelihoods. Her varied experience expands across; working with the government, not-for-profit and advisory services to facilitate access to finance, risk reduction and promoting sustainable livelihood opportunities for the poor. She is an alumnus of the Institute for Social Studies, The Hague, the Netherlands, and has completed a Master’s degree in social work from Tata Institute of Social Science (TISS), Mumbai, India, where she graduated at the top of her class.
Naomi is responsible for the internal and external communication for the 5-5-5 Strategy, including the website, social media, external media and publications. She is a CIM-qualified marketing, communications and events professional, with over 10 years’ experience in a wide variety of sectors ranging from B2B to non-profit. She has also achieved the CII Certificate in Insurance.
